Residents of Castle Road & Friends (TW7), have announced record-breaking fundraising results from their joyful TW7 Advent Windows Campaign 2025, raising an impressive £2,408 this year for the Hounslow Youth Counselling Service (HYCS)— the highest total ever achieved by the street’s annual fundraiser.

The campaign rallied the community behind a vital and longstanding youth counselling charity that provides essential mental health support to vulnerable young people across Hounslow Borough. HYCS is also one of the Mayor of Hounslow’s chosen charities for 2025–26, recognising its crucial role in supporting young people’s wellbeing locally.

The funds donated will support the delivery of around 20 introductory assessments and 60 counselling sessions for vulnerable young people across the borough, making a significant and lasting impact at a time of increasing demand for youth mental health services.

This year’s campaign saw even greater community involvement, with neighbours from Grainger Road and Nottingham Road joining the Castle Road residents in their festive initiative. The campaign also received a major boost from a feature on BBC London News, highlighting the power of local people coming together for good.

Now in its fourth year, the TW7 Advent Windows initiative has raised over £6,800 for local charities including those supporting homeless people (St Mungo’s), mental health services (Hounslow Youth Counselling Service and Samaritans Ealing & Hammersmith) and the Hounslow Food Bank. While every year has demonstrated strong community spirit, 2025 proved to be a record year of fundraising for the TW7 residents.

Thanking the TW7 organisers for their support, HYCS’ Chair of Trustees (Acting) Petra Raccani said:
“We’re so very grateful to the residents of Castle, Grainger and Nottingham Roads! The Advent Windows brought real joy and a wonderful sense of togetherness. That community spirit, alongside the fundraising, shows the true power of people coming together to support young people’s wellbeing — and it will make a real difference to young lives across Hounslow Borough.”

The Castle Road and Friends organisers involved in the campaign were thrilled by the incredible support shown for this year’s event adding:
“We couldn’t have done it without the support of the amazing community we live in – a huge thanks to all who took part and generously donated.  It’s been wonderful seeing families, neighbours and local residents coming to enjoy the windows. Knowing that something so joyful can also help young people in our Borough who really need support makes it incredibly special.  We look forward to more success next year… watch this space!”
